Causes And Symptoms Of Gums Infections

Gum disease, is a serious infection that can lead to tooth loss if left untreated. Gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, is a chronic bacterial infection that affects the gums and bone supporting the teeth. Gum disease is also known as gum infection, it is also one of the main reasons of tooth loss. Gum infection is being indicated by tender and swollen gums, gums that are red in color and easily bleeds when brushing. Gums may also recede as one of the advance state of the condition. Gum infection spreads under the gum line, gum tissues and the bone can be damage when the infection gets into them. A gum infection is due to bacteria and debris getting stuck under the gums and staying there too long causing an infection or lack of regular cleanings and too much tartar/calculus buildup under the gums.
