Quitting Bad Habits May Stop Encouraging Gum Infection Development
Common dental problems such as gum disease can lead to an advanced periodontal disease or gum infection when good oral hygiene is not properly done. Bacteria is responsible for the many common dental problems. No matter how frequent one brushes his teeth every after meal and flosses regularly, he may still have that bad habit which can encourages bacterial growth such as smoking, tobacco use, and alcohol intake. These habits can affect the levels of saliva in the mouth and may undermine even the best dental hygiene regimen. Saliva plays a huge role in preventing gum infections because it contains high levels of oxygen and natural enzymes which limit the growth of anaerobic bacteria.
