What Does Your Swollen Gums Mean?
One of the most neglected health habits of most people is taking care of the gums. Never did we know that it can lead to serious health conditions that we dreamed of having. Gingivitis is a gum disease wherein the tissue and the bone surrounding the teeth is inflamed or infected. Gum disease starts with plaque, a sticky white substance that coats the teeth. Plaque when not removed from the teeth by merely brushing or flossing can lead to tartar when accumulated. Tartar is harder to remove and requires a visit to the dentist. Gingivitis’ most common symptom is red, swollen gums that bleed when brushing or even flossing. So, never neglect this condition when you experience it. Moreover, put into consideration bad breath and loose teeth or widening space between the gums and teeth.
